Clay and Concrete Are Not Interchangeable
Clay Tile
Fired clay holds its color essentially permanently because the color is the material, not a coating. Lighter than concrete and typically the longer-lived of the two, at a higher cost per square.
Concrete Tile
Molded concrete costs less and offers more profile and color options. It is heavier than clay and its surface color can fade over decades of Texas sun exposure.
